About STREAM

Educational initiatives designed jointly by Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to modernise Kerala's public education sector.

Vision

Beyond merely gaining knowledge

The goal of education is to foster practical knowledge application, appropriate attitudes and life skills in students, aligned with modern global educational, occupational and social demands. Based on this vision, SSK and CUSAT jointly designed three initiatives: STREAM Ecosystem, iLab and Creative Corner.

Implemented under the STARS project, the STREAM Ecosystem aims to cultivate a research aptitude, an innovative mindset and practical life skills in students, starting right from the school level. It was launched as a pilot in 2022 and has expanded to Block Resource Centres across six districts.

Aligned with the National Education Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals, STREAM, iLab and Creative Corner set out to create a new paradigm in Kerala's educational landscape.
